We are located just 20 minutes south of Albany, in a region nationally known for its rich quail hunting tradition and long-standing sporting culture. This environment plays a major role in shaping our program, as our dogs are bred, raised, and developed in the very conditions they are expected to excel in.
Oak Run German Shorthaired Pointers are purpose-bred for quail hunting and versatile upland work. Many respected local plantations and hunt clubs proudly run Oak Run dogs in their kennels, a testament to the consistency, performance, and reliability of our breeding program. Our puppies are raised with a strong foundation that emphasizes natural bird drive, athleticism, intelligence, and sound temperament.
Our breeding program blends proven German and American bloodlines, combining the best attributes of both to produce dogs capable of excelling in a wide range of hunting styles. Whether in traditional plantation quail settings, wild bird hunting, or competitive field trial environments, our goal is to produce dogs that can perform at a high level while remaining practical, honest hunting companions.

The Fancy x Wyatt litter arrived on New Year’s Day, starting the year off in the best possible way here at Oak Run Kennels. This breeding was planned with intention, combining proven bloodlines, strong bird drive, and the natural ability we consistently strive to produce.
Fancy is coming off an excellent derby season and is ranked nationally by the GSPCA in both Puppy and Derby. She recorded several wins this year and placed in every trial and stake she competed in, a level of consistency that speaks volumes about her ability, competitiveness, and mental makeup. Fancy was bred and trained here at Oak Run Kennels, and she has exceeded our expectations at a young age. She is without question one of the nicest young females we have seen, and because she and the rest of her litter turned out so well, we felt now was the right time to incorporate her into our breeding program.
Wyatt brings a complementary set of qualities to this litter. While he is not a trial dog, he is exceptionally well bred, with a strong, balanced build and effortless movement that immediately stood out to us. His structure, athleticism, and overall presence were exactly what we were looking to match with Fancy, and we felt his pedigree aligned extremely well with hers. The depth and quality of dogs behind both Fancy and Wyatt give us a great deal of confidence in the potential of this cross.
Fancy is doing an outstanding job as a mother, and the puppies are healthy, thriving, and showing great promise early on. We are excited about this litter and look forward to watching these pups develop into high-quality hunting dogs and competitive prospects that reflect the standards and goals of Oak Run Kennels.
